3 Ways To Get Your Skin Glowing and Ready For Spring
It’s that time of the year when we are officially OVER with winter and ready for the spring season. As excited as we are for longer days and warmer weather, our skin may need a little TLC before we break out our spring wardrobe.
To make sure you are spring-ready, here are three things you can do right now to get your skin glowing and healthy.
- Stay Hydrated – Getting soft, glowing skin starts from the inside. It’s vital to provide your body with enough water and nutrients to battle winter’s current conditions. This is especially important if you find yourself at higher altitudes or you engage in a lot of sports – like skiing and snowboarding. “Make sure you hydrate more than usual,” says renowned dermatologist and media expert, Dr. Whitney Bowe. “Although water should be your primary source of hydration, I like to make sure I’m also getting electrolytes and antioxidant properties at least once during each ski day. My favorite is HALO Sport because it’s formulated with antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E, as well as Amla Berry, which is a super-food known for its potent antioxidant properties.”
- Cover Up – February is the coldest and windiest winter month in a lot of areas, making our skin more prone to dryness and windburn. It’s important to wear appropriate layers not just to keep warm, but to also prevent damages from the harsh elements. If you’re outside a lot, it’s also a good idea to invest in a ski mask. It will protect your face’s skin from winter rashes and wind burn.
- Exfoliate – It may seem counter intuitive, but the best way to obtain healthy skin is to make sure you scrub regularly. Old products and dead skin cells often get left behind even after we wash. Moisture, which keeps skin feeling soft and new, can’t get in when the buildup is too much. It’s essential to indulge in an exfoliating mask and/or tools for a deep clean that will let the best of your skin shine.
