#MyArena Interview with Bright Pink CEO Ginny Ehrlich
In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, HALO will be donating 10% of proceeds from all Pink Lemonade sales during October to Bright Pink, a national nonprofit dedicated to saving lives from breast and ovarian cancer by empowering women to know their risk and manage their health proactively.
Although a lot of things feel out of control right now, Bright Pink believes your health doesn’t have to be. Bright Pink's mission is to empower all women on their journeys toward brighter, healthier futures by ensuring they have the information, resources and tools they need to take charge of their health and get the care they need and deserve, no matter their circumstance.
To learn more about Bright Pink, we sat down with their CEO Ginny Ehrlich and talked about her personal motivation, where her most productive workouts happen and how she leveled up in 2020. Read on for some major inspiration!
#MyArena is a place where you work your hardest, where your head clears, where there’s no limit. Where’s yours?
#MyArena is working tirelessly to ensure that all women have the information, tools and resources they need to take charge of their health. Every woman – no matter what her circumstance – deserves to be healthy and to live her best life story.
What’s your motivation?
I am motivated by passion for social good and my drive to create a world in which all women have access to all preventive health options.
You can only take one guilty pleasure with you to a desert island. What is it?
My tennis bag – tennis is both my guilty pleasure and outlet.
Slow burn or fast sprints?
Fast sprints – I don’t sit still well.
Where do your most productive workouts happen?
On the tennis court and during an open air run.
Hunter or gatherer?
Hunter – I never back down from a challenge. As the great Ruth Bader Ginsburg once said, “Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you."
How did you level up this year?
I changed my life to be in the place I love, surrounded by the people I love, while still being able to do the work I love.
You’re suddenly gifted with 13 extra hours in every day. What do you do?
More of what I do every day – work my passion, play tennis and run, and spend quality time with friends and family.
Are your workouts best when you’re on a team, in a class, or by yourself?
I like to mix it up. I love a solo run and a good team tennis event.
What’s your style: morning, midday, or evening workout session?
Weekend mornings and weekday evenings. I love to move.
Workout playlist: what’s your one-song recommendation?
The Champion by Carrie Underwood and Ludacris.
What sport do you really admire, but you aren’t that great at (yet)?
I love all sports. I really admire the commitment and drive of all athletes. I especially admire many of the martial arts, such as tai chi and karate, because of the intersection between the physical, mental and emotional aspects of these sports.
