HALO Supports LEAD Africa's One Brick Campaign
HALO Sport strongly believes in enriching the lives of others and making a positive social impact, which is why we're proud to support LEAD Africa, an innovative network of African academies that combine high-quality education, professional sports training, good nutrition, and healthcare to empower Africa's future leaders. To support their efforts, HALO donates a percentage of all proceeds to LEAD.
The young ladies of the Monrovia Football Academy, LEAD's flagship academy, recently made history by winning the Target USA Cup and becoming the first Liberian women’s team of any age to win an international tournament. More than 40,000 people watched the girls’ final on Facebook Live, and Liberia’s president George Weah made a public statement to congratulate them. This win demonstrates what happens when girls are given the opportunities they deserve.
During the girls’ trip to Minnesota, LEAD launched their One Brick campaign to raise funds for the first phase of their own academy in Liberia. The campus calls for 250,000 bricks or $250,000. Once finished, the campus will provide residential facilities, classrooms, professional sports training, health, nutrition, and pastoral care for children ages 7-16.
